Core Unit of Business
What is the smallest effective unit within a business?
It’s a team.
How large are your teams?
On paper, it might be 3+ people.
In reality, it might actually only be 1 person.
True teams will optimize the success of the team, even if it means that individuals within the team might be “sub-optimized” as a result.
By contrast, it seems that we go the other direction: optimizing the success of individuals at the expense of the success of the team.
What’s the consequence? Increased perceived efficiency, tanked actual effectiveness.
