Sell, don't manipulate
I used to be really uncomfortable with selling myself.
Everything I knew about sales came from stereotypes of sleazy car sales people: Selling was twisting the truth, hiding cons, being extraordinarily pushy, and so on.
Turns out that everything I knew about sales was completely wrong, especially in the service industry.
A sale’s conversation is, at it’s core, a meeting where two parties meet to analyze the costs, risks, and value of a potential transaction.
Pure sales, then, is about more transparency, not less. More freedom to choose. And strangely, that just increases the value of your offer.
Sell yourself, your product, your business. Manipulation is not required.
